A Double / MC Truck Driver (Full Time, Permanent)
We are seeking a proactive individual who is experienced, organised and motivated to join our team as an A Double, MC Truck Driver. This role includes operating in the bulk haulage sector and is based in the Mallee, delivering to Melbourne Port, Geelong, Murray Bridge, Adelaide, Cobden and other locations throughout Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
The ideal candidate will maintain a strong work ethic, have the ability to self-load and unload and a good knowledge of the SA, NSW and Victorian freight network.
We provide a great fleet with well maintained, high quality equipment and pay above award, per km rate, including loading/unloading rates and allowances. This role is based from our office in Gol Gol, New South Wales and can include up to 2-5 nights away from home per week, as the schedule requires.
The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude, be a good team player and have the ability to maintain positive working relationships with our customers. They will work closely with our logistics and operations team to manage their schedules within BFM and Mass limits.
Key responsibilities:
- Safe and efficient long distance operating, adhering to our safety policies and procedures, and legal operating limits
- Navigating vehicles for loading and unloading of bulk commodities
- Regularly perform checks of your equipment, perform minor maintenance as required, report any concerns or maintenance requirements to the operations manager in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere and operate within MASS load restraint, limits and reporting requirements, ensuring goods are secure to minimise loss or damage to goods
- Daily record keeping and load record management including the use of MyTrucking
- Strong communication and organisational skills
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must;
- Hold a current MC licence
- Have a minimum 12 months MC experience
- Possess a good driving history and be able to provide a recent 2-year traffic history report
- Have a current Fitness to Drive Certificate
- Hold BFM Certification or be willing to obtain it through us
- Pass a pre-employment heavy vehicle medical check, drug and alcohol test and driving assessment
Desirable, but not essential to start:
- A clear understanding of road transport legislation, BFM legislation & mass axle weights
- Bulk tipper experience
